- 2 c flour
- 1 T baking powder
- 2 t. sugar
- 1/2 t. cream of tarter
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/2 c butter
- 2/3 c milk
Directions:
- Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tarter and salt.
- Cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in center. Add milk all at once; stir till moistened.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Quickly knead dough by gently folding and pressing dough. Pat or lightly roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut dough with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
- Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 450' for 10 to 12 minutes or till golden.
- Remove biscuits from baking sheet and serve hot.
